Alex Souza é ator, cantor, compositor e instrumentista. Bacharel em interpretação teatral pela UNB - Universidade de Brasília, participou de diversos musicais como ator, cantor, compositor e violonista. Entre eles: ROSA NEGRA, SALVE O PRAZER, A DANÇA DOS SIGNOS, NOTURNO, LENDAS E TRIBOS, 1492 - A CONQUISTA DO PARAÍSO, SUJEITO ESTRANHO e O VALE ENCANTADO. Participou tocando, cantando e atuando. Participou dos reconhecidos espetáculos do diretor Hugo Rodas: O TEMPO E A IRA, AS IDADES DE LOLA, ROSA NEGRA, SALVE O PRAZER. Em 2007 atuou no elenco de OS DEMôNIOS, dirigido por Rodas e Antônio Abujanrra.
Como músico e compositor, foi premiado com MELHOR MÚSICA e como melhor INTÉRPRETE nos seguintes festivais: FICO - Primeiro colocado e melhor interprete 1994 FICO - Primeiro colocado, 1995 FICO - Primeiro colocado, 1996 FESTIVAL Canta Cidade Livre FINCA - Segundo colocado e melhor interprete, 2000 FINCA - Terceiro colocado e melhor interprete, 2003 Prêmio SESC de Música-Tributo a Brasília - Terceiro colocado.

Em 2006 gravou seu primeiro disco solo autoral“Brincando de Subir”, em 2012 gravou seu segundo disco autoral”Capricha na pimenta”.
Cantor, compositor e violonista do grupo CARAIVANA. O grupo, que se formou em 2004, é fruto do encontro de seis instrumentistas de diferentes cidades do país: Alex Souza, violão de seis cordas e voz (Brasília); Dudu Maia, Bandolim de dez cordas (Brasília); Fábio Luna, Flauta, cavaquinho e voz (Rio de Janeiro e Belo Horizonte); Douglas Laura, violão de sete cordas (São Paulo); Alexandre Lora, pandeiro e percussões (São Paulo), Juninho Billy Joe, percussão e voz (Caraiva ).
O trabalho desenvolvido durante esse período desperta elogios e vem surpreendendo com inúmeras manifestações nos meios midiáticos. Como resultado advindo das gravações em estúdio e ao vivo em São Paulo, destaca-se a experiência musical de cada integrante, e o potencial criativo e original desse encontro que mistura música instrumental e música cantada no vasto universo dos grandes compositores e dos grandes letristas da música brasileira.
